The best days of owning a boat.

If you have ever owned a boat someone has probably told you that old tired line before... "The two best days of owning a boat are the day you buy it and the day you sell it."

I heard that a few times the day I bought my first boat (a Trophy 1903). I have always hated that line. While partly true, the day I bought my first boat was one of the proudest days of my life, the day I sold that boat was bittersweet, even though I already had the next boat sitting at home.

I would argue there are many days of boat ownership that are better than the days you buy it and sell it. I know its true for me because I've lived them.

Spending the day tubing on the lake with my family and then stopping in a little cove to let my niece catch her first fish. That was a great day.

Watching the sun creep over the horizon from the helm of my boat as we run Beaufort Inlet, smelling that salt air and feeling the wind blow through my hair as I watch the birds glide over the water's surface. That was a great day.

Cruising the ICW with my wife and son and seeing the huge smile on his face as he watches other boats go by and then catching a magnificent Bogue Sound sunset. That was a great day.

Those memories are priceless to me. To me those are the times that boat ownership is all about. It is so much a part of my family's life and I wouldn't trade that for anything. I bet you probably agree.

If you are looking for your next boat please let us be a part of the search. If you are ready to move to the next chapter of your boating life we can help. In either case let CBYB help get you back to making those great days and great memories again.

Enjoy the water...

Brad
